The Origin of White Noise

“Hiroko, are you coming?” asked Dr. Walters.

Hiroko looked up from the paperwork she had been organizing. “Absolutely!” she cheered. “I’m honored that you’d even let me observe this discovery!”

“Well, someone has to take decent notes,” smiled Dr. Walters.

Grabbing a pad of paper, a pen, and her PDA, Hiroko Inoue walked beside Dr. Walters as they made their way to Testing Lab #2. Hiroko had only been in the States a few years on scholarship, and had lucked out when she was offered an internship here at EstroLabs, the first all-female scientific research center and think-tank. Even though her background was in Business, her organization and documentation skills attracted EstroLabs’s attention, and she was assigned as the personal assistant of Dr. Samantha Walters, a brilliant quantum physicist.

What they were examining today was a pair of bracelets found in the Mojave Desert. The “Static Bands”, as they were called, emitted some strange energy that resembled television “snow” when worn and appeared to be made of a substance that otherwise didn’t exist on Earth.

“What’s the plan today?” asked Hiroko.

“Today we’re going to try and determine the molecular makeup of the Static Bands,” mused Dr. Walters. “As of yet, we’ve been unable to determine the Bands’ power source or how they seem to respond to the wearer’s thoughts. We’ve suspended testing them with a wearer until we can figure out how they work, especially after the incident last month.”

Hiroko nodded. The reason they were going to Testing Lab #2 was because Testing Lab #1 was completely destroyed after the first wearer lost control of the energy and leveled most everything in the lab. Fortunately, no one had been killed in the outburst, but several of the scientists were still in the hospital.

Dr. Walters scanned her passkey outside the lab, and the door opened. Hiroko hated the smell of the Testing Labs, because they used some sort of sterilization gas to quickly and efficiently disinfect the room, and the residual odor irritated Hiroko’s eyes and nose.

The scientists were almost reading and activated the laser microscope, which projected onto a large LCD in the middle of the lab. Dutifully, Hiroko wrote down every word the scientists uttered, and even drew a few sketches, where they discussed some of the Bands’ atomic structure. Suddenly, something caught Hiroko’s eye.

There was a disturbance in the air right in front of each of the two lab doors. Hiroko was about to mention this, when the disturbances became two large portals, and fifteen or so humanoid robots stormed through. Hiroko had seen these before on the evening news. These were Imperator’s robots, and he couldn’t be far behind.

With no time to react, everyone in the lab was grabbed by a robot and quickly bound at the ankles and wrists, and tightly gagged. The attack happened so fast that no one was able to escape or raise any alarms, and since the lab was restricted to only certain individuals, who all happened to be in the lab at the time, the outside world had no idea what was going on.

As the robots finished binding the last scientist, three new figures walked through one of the portals. Hiroko’s eyes widened as she recognized Negativa and Imperator himself. Obviously, they were here to steal the Static Bands. Rumor had it that Imperator had spent time in outer space or was an alien himself, so he might know the true nature of the Static Bands.

Not even acknowledging the whimpering scientists, Imperator walked over to the LCD. “Interesting,” he muttered. “Even the Fortranis never created anything this advanced.”

Hiroko had no idea what “Fortranis” were, but she suspected they weren’t from this planet.

Imperator went over and picked the Static Bands off of their exam table. Turning back to the captives he asked, “Now where is Dr. Samantha Walters? Ah, there you are…”

Still holding the Static Bands in his left hand, Imperator walked over to Dr. Walters and snapped his fingers. One of the robots walked behind her and pulled her to her feet. Pulling down her gag, Imperator said, “I understand you’re in charge of the research concerning these artifacts.”

“How did you know about this?” Dr. Walters stammered. “This is a top-secret project!”

“I’m sure you’re aware your research partner, Dr. Stephens, has been calling in sick the past two days. In reality, she’s been strapped to a machine at one of my lairs being kept in a constant state of sexual arousal, with no release. It’s quite an ingenious device,” Imperator digressed, “one that monitors her biorhythms and hormone levels, and just as she’s getting ready to either orgasm or pass out, it injects her with just the right chemical mix to prevent her from doing either. To her credit, she did manage to last nearly a full seven hours before she was ready to tell me everything I ever wanted to know about this project. It was another three though, before she gave me your name.”

“What do you want from me?” asked Dr. Walters in false defiance.

“You’re going to tell me everything you know about these. What they’re made of, what they can do, and most importantly, how they work,” stated Imperator. “If you can’t tell me this information now, then you will return with me to my lair and complete your research for me.”

“A-a-and if I refuse?”

Imperator didn’t answer, and grabbed the front of her slacks with his right hand, tearing them completely off with one swift motion. He then reached into her panties and began fingering her vagina. A low moan escaped Dr. Walters’s lips.

“Doctor, you’d be amazed at my knowledge of the human anatomy, especially female anatomy. I can do things to you that would make you give up your firstborn just to make me quit. Things like this, for instance….”

Suddenly, Dr. Walters’s legs buckled and she screamed loudly, experiencing the hardest orgasm of her life. The robot’s tight grip was the only thing that kept her upright. Her entire body was quivering as she panted, trying to catch her breath.

Casually licking his fingers, Imperator mused, “And that’s just what I can do with one bare hand. Imagine the sensations I can give you with the proper machinery. Now, just based on what I’m seeing here, I’m guessing you haven’t gotten as far along with your research as I’d hoped. So, it looks like you’ll be returning with us.”

Out of nowhere, a blast of light came through the ceiling and struck the ground at Imperator’s feet, sending both him and the Static Bands flying. Hiroko heard the Static Bands clatter against the hard floor behind her.

“No one’s going anywhere!” boomed Starr, levitating down through the hole in the ceiling.

Imperator pulled himself to his feet. “Starr, what a pleasant surprise!” he gleamed, stepping towards her.

Hiroko began scooting herself backwards, trying to recover the Static Bands and hopefully conceal them.

Hovering in mid-air, Starr glared at Imperator. “Don’t play games, Imperator. I followed one of your portal energy signatures here. What are you after?”

Imperator, still trying to play the suave gentleman, held out his hands, “Oh, I had the loveliest bracelets I was going to give you, but you seemed to have made me drop them, and that’s just not very polite.”

With a snap of his fingers, the robots began circling Starr, but as they began to close in, Shadow Girl appeared from a dark corner, brandishing some sort of weapon resembling a sci-fi shotgun.

“You’re not the only ones who can appear unannounced,” she quipped, opening fire on the robots, blowing them to bits.

In the excitement, Hiroko had managed to reach the Static Bands. What was she going to do with them, though? She decided she’d just slip each one over one of her hands and try and merge back in with the one of the groupings of scientists, in the hopes it would at least delay the villains long enough to foil their plot. As she got each hand inside the Static Bands as far as her bindings would allow, she suddenly felt a strange energy begin to flow through her.

“You’re just quite the pair of tricksters, aren’t you?” stated Imperator, seemingly unphased by the quick defeat of his robots. “Good thing I had a contingency plan.”

“What are you talking abou…,” Starr started to ask, when Negativa leapt from the rafters and grabbed Starr in a sleeper hold. Activating her powers, Negativa quickly began draining Starr’s energy, adding to her own, and the pair began a slow decent to the floor.

“Starr!” cried Shadow Girl, aiming her weapon, trying to get a clean shot at Negativa. However, Imperator quickly teleported behind her, knocked the weapon out of her hands, and pinned her arms behind her back.

Pulling her over to a railing, Imperator pulled a set of handcuffs out of his belt and cuffed Shadow Girl’s arms around the railing. Shadow Girl pulled against the cuffs, shouting, “You bastard, let me MMMPH!”

Imperator had pulled a small ball out of his belt and pushed it into Shadow Girl’s mouth. Pressing a small button, the ball inflated, stretching Shadow Girl’s jaw wide open and completely filling her mouth. “Such language,” he muttered. “It really is quite unbecoming on a beautiful young lady such as yourself.” Looking out to the main floor of the lab, he shouted, “Negativa, how are you doing?”

By now, Negativa had drained most of Starr’s energy, reducing her to near-human levels. She had removed Starr’s gloves and bound her arms at the wrists and elbows. Gagging Starr with one hand, Negativa reached pulled down the top of Starr’s bodice and began fondling her ample breasts. “Oh, just fine, boss,” she cooed, licking the side of Starr’s face.

Starr could only stare daggers at Negativa and muttered something indiscernible through Negativa’s hand.

Hiroko shuddered as the alien energy washed over her. She could feel the energy had some sort of sentience, and that it was awaiting her instructions. Right now, Hiroko wanted free, and a small tendril of energy came out of the Bands and sliced through the ropes restraining Hiroko’s wrists.

Tearing the crotch out of Shadow Girl’s leotard, and pulling down her tights, Imperator replied, “Despite being such a fervent lezbo, Negativa does have a few good ideas.” Unzipping his own pants, Imperator pulled out his penis.

Shadow Girl had heard the other heroines talk about “Little Imperator”, but she had thought they were exaggerating. Imperator’s twelve inches of rock-hard meat made her cringe when she saw it, and scream when he began forcing it in her pussy. Imperator reached under her thighs, lifting her up so that gravity forced all of him inside her. Pinned against the railing, she could only rock her head back and forth and moan through the gag as Imperator’s hard thrusts rubbed every square inch of her sex.

Her hands now free, Hiroko slid the Static Bands the rest of the way on. More energy reached out and cut the ropes binding her feet as well as the gag. Hiroko could feel the seemingly limitless energy the Static Bands allowed her access to and began to understand how to control it. She stood up and stepped out into the room.

“Imperator! Leave her alone!” she boomed, and shot a stream of energy towards him.

Right on the edge of climax, Imperator never saw the blast coming and was knocked off the balcony onto the floor.

Hiroko turned to Negativa, who had dropped Starr and begun advancing toward her. Hiroko fired another blast, and Negativa activated her powers, absorbing the energy. Hiroko didn’t give up and poured more energy into Negativa, who within seconds began staggering. Already “full” from draining Starr, the power of the Static Bands proved too much for her, and she took the full force of the blow into the opposite wall.

By now, Imperator had recovered from the initial attack and gotten his member back in his pants. “Nobody interrupts me when I’m having sex!” he seethed. Grabbing a piece of pipe, he teleported behind Hiroko, intending to club her on the head. Almost instinctively, Hiroko created a force field around herself, and the pipe broke against it.

Hiroko formed a hand out of the energy and grabbed Imperator around the waist, lifting him into the air. “Not such a tough guy now, are you?” she asked.

Futilely pushing against the fingers, Imperator reached into his coat and pulled out two grenades. He popped the pins with his thumbs and tossed each one into a different group of scientists. “Take me in or save your workmates. You have five seconds.”

Hiroko dropped Imperator and formed two hands to search for the grenades. Meanwhile Imperator teleported over to the incapacitated Negativa, and picked her up. “Young lady, you’d better hope we never meet again,” he said right before teleporting out.

Hiroko had retrieved the grenades and began wrapping them in layers of energy. She felt a small shock as they exploded, but the energy confined the blasts. She helped Starr and Shadow Girl out of their bonds, and while they were getting straightened back up, she freed the scientists.

After everyone was freed, Dr. Walters approached Hiroko. “How did you know how to use the Bands?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” replied Hiroko, removing them. “I just got hold of them, then sort of just ‘understood’ how to use them.” She held the Static Bands out to Dr. Walters. “Here, these are yours.”

A gloved hand reached in and intercepted Hiroko. “It appears,” interjected Starr, “that Hiroko here has something in her genes that enables her to control them, or else the Static Bands possess some type of sentience and chose her to be their master. I think both Hiroko and the Static Bands would be put to better use trying to stop Imperator. Surely, you saw how well she handled herself, Doctor?”

Dr. Walters paused for a moment, then replied. “Yes, you’re right. Of course, the choice ultimately lies with Hiroko, but if she’d be willing to visit every so often to let us examine the Bands further, I’d be willing to let her keep them, provided she remains under your tutelage. Hiroko?”

Hiroko looked down at the bands, then at Dr. Walters and Starr. “Yes,” she said after a moment’s thought. “I will help you fight.”

“All right!” gleamed Shadow Girl, walking up to the group. Putting her arm around Hiroko, she added, “Now comes the important part, getting you a costume and a cool code name!”

“Shadow Girl…” chided Starr.

“Oh lighten up, you know I’m only teasing,” Shadow Girl replied. “But we do need a name. Let’s see… Static Girl?”

“Static also means immobile,” replied Hiroko.

“Snowy?”

“Snow implies cold powers.”

“Snow White?”

“No…”

“White Noise… That’s like static, isn’t it?”

Hiroko thought for a moment. “Yes,” she agreed, “White Noise it is…”
