HISTORY: Hiroko was working her way through college as a secretary to Dr. Samantha Walters, a brilliant researcheer at EstroLabs. Dr. Walters was studying the recently-discovered and, believed to be, alien artifacts collectively referred to as the Static Bands.
      During one such research experiment, Imperator broke into the lab, taking everyone captive in an attempt to steal the Static Bands. When Starr and Shadow Girl broke up the attack, Hiroko grabbed the Static Bands in an attempt to conceal them.
      Imperator quickly regouped and soon had Starr and Shadow Girl at his mercy, but the Static Bands had begun bonding mentally with Hiroko, and she managed to repel Imperator and his assault team all by herself.
      Because she exhibited such control and quick learning with the Static Bands, Dr. Walters conceded to Starr's invitation to let Hiroko join the HOTTIEs.
