Various: A Night in the Museum

“See anything, Shadow Girl,” whispered JunJitsu.

“Nope, nothing,” replied Shadow Girl, scanning the dark room.  “But with all these exhibits, who knows where the perp’s hiding.”

The two heroines slowly worked their way through the museum looking for the cause of the triggered silent alarm.  When the two of them, plus Leopard Girl and Blackout arrived on the scene, they found the building still locked, but the guards were missing.  After Shadow Girl teleported them inside, they’d chosen to split up into two groups to try and find the infiltrator more quickly.  JunJitsu chose to go with Shadow Girl, since Shadow Girl could see in the dark, while Blackout went with Leopard Girl, whose enhanced senses would be a complementary skill.

As JunJitsu and Shadow Girl rounded the caveman exhibit, Shadow Girl caught some movement to the left.  She quickly tapped JunJitsu on the shoulder and pointed.

Various: The Consequence of Failure

Freeze-Or-Burn jumped at the sound of the door being opened. The light pouring into the room nearly blinded her, but there was no mistaking Imperator’s silhouette filling the doorway.

“Get up,” Imperator ordered.

Freeze-Or-Burn rolled from her side to her knees, which was all the further the frogtie she was in would allow.

“Come here.”

Slowly, Freeze-Or-Burn knee-walked over towards Imperator, her pace slowed by the clips on each of her labia tied with a thin cord to her ankles. Pained gasps escaped through the metal ring strapped behind her teeth, and a trail of drool marked her path from the back of the room to the doorway.

When she finally reached him, Imperator roughly grabbed her chin and raised her head so he could lock eyes with her.

“Would you like to explain to me why you and Violet Outburst didn’t come back with the money the two of you were instructed to get?” Imperator asked.

NiteGlow: …Into the Fire

“Come in,” answered Dr. Linsley, looking up from the text she was translating.

The door opened, and in walked an attractive, well-dressed man carrying a large wrapped package under one arm.

“Dr. Susana Linsley?” he asked.

Dr. Linsley stood to meet her guest. “Yes. How can I help you?” she replied, holding out her hand.

The man shook her hand and answered, “My name is Allen Reeder, and I’ve recently come into possession of an ancient Sumerian text which I’ve brought with me.” He lifted the package, indicating he brought it with him. “I’m told you’re the most experienced translator of ancient tomes in the area, and I was wondering if you could help me with some of the translations.”

Dr. Linsley smiled. “Well, thank you for the compliment. My Sumerian isn’t as strong as some of the other languages, but I’d be happy to give it a shot.”

The Origin of Blood Witch

“In today’s news, another graduate student from the Texas A&M Anthropology Department has gone missing. Twenty-three year-old Louis Sanchez was last seen working late in the anthropology lab on Tuesday night. He did not show up for classes the next day, nor had any of his friends or relatives heard from him. This marks the third disappearance in eight weeks. Authorities are investigating…”

“She’s going to get herself caught,” I sighed, turning off the television. “I guess it’s time.”

Dr. Carla Aquilla was a brilliant anthropologist at A&M. About two months ago she had uncovered the biggest find of her lifetime, a necklace mounted with a rare gem of unknown origin buried in a recently excavated well. Shortly afterward, students began disappearing from the graduate program. While the police hadn’t put it together yet, my research showed that all of the missing students had Dr. Aquilla as their faculty advisor. The students had all disappeared without any trace whatsoever, and my intuition told me she was at least somehow responsible. In addition, Dr. Aquilla’s bank account was growing more quickly than usual. My guess was, she was either performing some kind of ritual sacrifice or was somehow involved in a slave-trading operation, and anyone with either skillset had to be at least worth talking to.

JunJitsu: Spy Trap

JunJitsu couldn’t stop fidgeting in the suit. She’d much rather be in her costume, which allowed her a lot more freedom of movement. Today, however, that wasn’t an option. She was going undercover for the CIA in order to rescue a captured agent and seize the international super-spy Bleu in the process.

Bleu was offering to trade the hostage for a set of documents supposedly outlining plans for some sort of new weapons or defense system. The hitch in this plan was that the plans had to be real. The original agent had been kidnapped when she was trying to sell phony plans to Bleu during the original sting operation. Apparently, Bleu knew enough about the project or the technology to recognize a fake. This is why JunJitsu was invited along as back-up.
